MAKING A RESERVATION AND DEPOSITS

Reservations can be made directly to John Hall’s Alaska by mail, telephone, or in person. To confirm your reservation on a John Hall’s Alaska World Adventure tour, please send your per person deposit within ten days of your reservation. If canceled, deposits paid by credit card forfeit 4%. To reserve your space by credit card, please contact our office: 800.325.2270. Deposit amounts vary by destination based on the requirements of our partners:

  • AUSTRALIA / NEW ZEALAND: $1,500 per person
  • HAWAIIAN ISLANDS: $1,500 per person
  • IRELAND / SCOTLAND: $1,500 per person
  • SOUTHERN AFRICA: $2,000 per person
  • WESTERN NATIONAL PARKS: $1,000 per person
FINAL PAYMENTS

A final payment reminder will be sent two weeks before the due date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released. Re-booking is subject to availability. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and personal checks are acceptable forms of payment. A charge of $35 USD per check applies if submitted with insufficient funds. If you intend to take out trip insurance, do so before making your final payment.

A discount will be extended for those paying their tour balance by cash or check. Guests who pay their deposit by credit card may still receive this discount. Discount amounts vary by destination based on our partner’s requirements.

  • WORLD ADVENTURE TOURS (EXCEPT SOUTHERN AFRICA):
    Final Payment must reach John Hall’s Alaska 90 days prior to tour departure date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released. Re-booking will be subject to availability.
  • SOUTHERN AFRICA:
    Final Payment must reach John Hall’s Alaska 120 days prior to tour departure date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released. Re-booking will be subject to availability.

International Guests: Check payments must be in USD funds or via wire transfer. Please contact our office to confirm current exchange rates before making your final payment.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation terms and penalties vary by destination based on each partner’s restrictions and requirements. Cancellations must be made in writing. Monies paid by credit card will forfeit 4% in addition to the cancellation penalty. In the event of interruption or cancellation after tour commencement, there will be no refunds. For cancellations prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:

  • AUSTRALIA / NEW ZEALAND:
    91 + days – full refund
    90-60 days – 50% of total fare
    59-45 days – 75% of total fare
    44-0 days – 100% of total fare
  • HAWAIIAN ISLANDS:
    91+ days – full refund
    90-60 days – 50% of total fare
    59-0 days – 100% of total fare
  • IRELAND / SCOTLAND:
    91 + days – full refund
    90-60 days – 50% of total fare
    59-0 days – 100% of total fare
  • SOUTHERN AFRICA:
    121 + days – full refund
    120-60 days – 50% of total fare
    59-0 days – 100% of total fare
  • WESTERN NATIONAL PARKS:
    90+ days – full refund
    89-0 days – 100% of total fare
REBOOKING POLICY

Guests currently booked on a tour who wish to transfer their reservation to the following year can do so at no charge if the current booking is outside the final payment date. Some tours may not run each year or in the same months, please check with our office to see if your tour is available the following year.

TOUR FARES

Some fares are based on the Euro and may fluctuate if the USD Dollar falls below 80% value of the Euro.

ADDITIONAL OVERNIGHTS & EXCURSIONS

For those looking to enhance their package with extra hotel nights before or after their tour, we will extend our best rates possible. The cost of additional hotel nights will be added to your final payment amount. The costs of optional land excursions will also be added to your final payment amount; however, some partners may require payment upfront.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH A JOHN HALL’S ALASKA WORLD ADVENTURE TOUR?

Accommodations; listed activities, tours, and entrance fees; transportation (as applicable within each tour); fully-guided service by industry professionals; local guide, driver, meals, airport meet and greet, transfers, baggage handling, and all related gratuities; taxes; fees; and a special alumni World Adventure memento.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?

Airfare to and from your destination, optional excursions, and travel insurance is not included.

Discretionary gratuities for your John Hall’s Alaska tour representatives are not included. Gratuities are offered at the discretion of the guest and should be based on service and experience received; we suggest:

  • Tour Representative: $7-10 per traveler per day per John Hall’s Alaska team member
SINGLE TRAVELERS

As a service to single travelers, we will assist in arranging a roommate, although a roommate cannot be guaranteed. You will initially be booked under a single supplement fare and moved to a double occupancy fare if a suitable roommate is found.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS

Let us know if you have a medical condition, physical disability, dietary limitation, or other special needs at the time of booking. To the extent possible, we seek to accommodate anyone with a disability. Certain facilities may not be fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Although we are unable to guarantee all services and special meal requests can be met, you must let us know in advance so that we may attempt to arrange your special requests with our partners. If you encounter changes to your medical needs such as dietary restrictions or use of a mobility device such as a wheelchair, scooter, or walker please advise us as soon as possible.

PASSPORTS

Traveling to a foreign country requires a passport and that it be valid six months past the date of your return. Passport information will be collected at the time of booking. If travel VISAs are required, John Hall’s Alaska will include these with your package. Guests are responsible for acquiring any vaccines recommended for travel to certain countries.

TOUR INTERRUPTIONS & REVISIONS

For the sake of providing a tour enjoyable to all guests, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to request that a guest leave the tour if the guest’s behavior becomes disruptive to other tour guests. The costs associated with returning home early will be the guest’s responsibility.

Due to unforeseen circumstances that may occur to or by our tour partners, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to revise any services included in the itinerary such as hotel accommodations, means of transportation, meals, and activities. In cases of substitution, every effort will be made to provide services of comparable or better quality. Exclusive sailing itineraries are guidelines and due to permitting and the nature of our explorations, changes may occur and the order of days may vary by departure.

PASSENGER CONTRACT

A passenger contract is supplied upon receipt of final payment.

FORCE MAJEURE

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to adjust or suspend operations of programs to ensure the safety, health, and experience of guests inside their final payment date. Pending proximity of the guest’s departure date, all monies would be transferable to a future travel date.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Guests must provide proof of negative COVID testing before joining a John Hall’s Alaska program. Guests will not be allowed to travel with other passengers until at least one test has been provided showing negative test results, administered within 72 hours of departing for your tour. COVID testing requirements are subject to change.

It is the responsibility of the guest to determine if vaccination is needed. John Hall’s Alaska makes it a guest’s choice, instead of a mandate. Travelers who have received the vaccination should advise John Hall’s Alaska when booking. Be advised, in some instances vaccinations may be required due to remote locations, CDC, or other requirements.
